Placide Adams 1 of 5
Kevin Brennan September 10, 08
I was a college kid in 1971 when I landed a job as a barker at the Royal Sonesta's Economy Hall. Louis Cotrell's band played most nights. Placide Adams played bass. For whatever reason, he took an interest in me and spent time between sets and at the end of the night talking. Years later on a visit to New Orleans I heard that voice floating down the street and got to spend a little more time catching up. Placide Adams was an excellent musician, a proud New Orleanian and a nice man who was good enough to give some time, attention and life advice to a kid who needed it some 37 years ago.
