I saw doc many times, mostly at tramp's cafe from late 96 to 99.He started there with the wonderful George kelly on tenor, then the all too unknown Calvin Lynch, also on tenor. For most of this time Zeke Mullin's was on piano as well as many other geust player's.Doc's sly humor was alway's in evidence and boundless energy.I belive he was working 6 or 7 gig's a week easily, and at his age. It's a shame to have heard of his passing, doc seemed like he would just keep going on and on.Alas it dos'nt work that way.Thank's for the memories doc.
