Much Love For Cecil 1 of 1
J.C. October 25, 08
I first met Cecil when I was 16yrs.of age in 1971. He was a childhood friend of my father in Brooklyn, N.Y since the 1930's. When I showed an interest in music he encouraged me in so many ways. After leaving Berklee College, I became a freelance musician and had the privilege of playing in various quartets/quintets led by Cecil in the early 1980's. He was a humble and gracious human being who blew the hell out of that baritone; a true giant in jazz.
