Leonard Feather 1 of 4

Leonard Feather was single-handedly responsible for the Jutta Hipp disaster. This poor woman was hugely successful at home, was talked into coming to the US by him and descended into the mealstrom practically instantly. Whatever the reasons, he brought her here and when it became evident that it had been an error he should have insisted on sending her back. I know how this worked in those days - the man or person who brought someone to the US was a ´sponsor´and was responsible for that person for at least a year. He failed in his responsibilities and later claimed not to know what had happened to Hipp, even though it was he who was her agent and knew of every gig she played. Gerry Frederics
