		<description><![CDATA[Nice meditation on the nature of what we do, Lyn. I agree especially that an attitude of open-minded inquiry and respect for the endeavor of music-making itself are qualities that benefit music or arts journalism in general, jazz journalism being one of the leading areas of productive writing to demonstrate that. Writing about jazz (among other arts including improvisation) ends up being a performance in itself. But the content of what we do -- musicians, too -- is more significant than the gloss and hype that can be its most obvious, superficial aspect. -- Howard]]></description>
