Mack Pitt was a saxophonist who worked in jazz, pop and classical settings in Detroit, and later became a teacher in the city after giving up his musical career. He played with Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and on many sessions for the Tamla Motown label.
