Henri Renaud was a jazz pianist, composer and record producer. A talented pianist, Renaud played with and produced records by Lester Young, Dexter Gordon, James Moody, Bobby Jaspar, Clifford Brown, Gigi Gryce, Al Cohn, J.J. Johnson, Jimmy Rowles, Milt Jackson, Oscar Pettiford, Max Roach, Kenny Clarke Buck Clayton, and others.

As a producer for CBS in France, he released important reissue albums by Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Count Basie. He was a modest and very knowledgeable jazz fan. The cause of his death was cancer.
