Faloon

Marty Faloon was a guitarist on the local jazz scene in Pittsburgh scene. He played with Erroll Garner and Dodo Marmarosa as teenagers in Homewood, and attended Westinghouse High School, where the alumni includes Billy Strayhorn, and Ahmad Jamal.

He served in Europe in WWII, where he met and remained friends with Charlie Byrd. He returned to Pittsburgh and divided his time between a job as a mail carrier and playing music. His engagements included playing in a duo with his wife, Patricia.

He is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, a sister, and two grandsons.
