Seals

Steele 'Sonny' Seals was a blues-oriented tenor saxophonist with the Jazz Me Blues Band in Chicago. He played on sessions with B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Louis Armstrong, and enjoyed a local reputation as a strong and inventive player.

He held a bachelor's degree in music from Governors State University (1976), and taught music in Chicago public schools.

He is survived by his wife, Artelia; three children, Leonardo Conner, Candice Seals and Henri Ford; his father, Gene Seals; four sisters, Beverly Jones, Denise Bryant, Paula Jones and Audrey Jackson, and six grandchildren.
