[jja-announce] William Gottlieb

Hi all -- I just got a call from the son of William Gottlieb, longtime JJA 
member, proto jazz journalist, writer-photographer (and Encyclopedia Brittanica 
films producer), telling me his father died Sunday, April 23, at age 89. Bill 
Gottlieb was an inspiration, a friend whose memory I'll cherish, and an 
incomparable jazz image-maker, whose photos of Billie, Monk, Ella, Dizzy, and many 
others are renown world-wide. 

I just though you should know. . .
