Ok -- better late than never -- the JJA Jazz Matters panel Wed., March 29, 6
to 8 p.m. at the New School Jazz 5th floor performance space, 55 W. 13th St.,
will feature the following panelists:
JB Dyas, Monk Institute director of education initiative
Nikki Johnson, Community Works Theater Program director
Leonore Gordon, poet/teaching artist, Teachers & Writers
Eli Yamen, composer-pianist, director Jazz at Lincoln Center Middle School
Academy
Paula Chan Bing, education specialist, Jazz at Lincoln Center
Teaching artists go to public schools as specialists presenting lessons about
their disciplines -- attend this session if you're interested in the
employment possibilities, the challenges and rewards of teaching as a visitor in
grammar and middle schools -- a potential new income source.
The session will be recorded and offered via CDR to JJA members -- order from
