Hi JJA members --

The JJA's 14th annual Jazz Awards event, scheduled for the afternoon of June
14 at City Winery, NYC, is shaping up nicely. Tickets for the event will go
on sale May 1. JJA members' discount on the $200 ticket will make attendance
at the event cost $75 each for one member and a plus-one. That will bring
you in to participate in the Awards' announcements and presentations to
musicians, presenters, journalists and A-Team members -- to enjoy libations
including Brother Thelonious Belgian Ale and City Winery's own vintage, a
buffet, and reception during which an exciting lineup of bands will
perform. Details of all this will be posted at JJAJazzAwards.org.

The JJA is also encouraging members and friends to host Awards satellite
parties everyplace outside NYC. These don't have to be fancy events, they
can be friendly house parties, linked directly to the Awards event in NYC so
you can find out who won each Award as they are announced. For details,
contact President at jazzjournalists.org.

You can see the finalists ballot at www.JJAJazzAwards.org -- but we will
have the final voting at Jazzhouse.org. Your vote willl ONLY BE COUNTED IF
about your membership status, please contact JoAnn Collins,
membership at jazzjournalists.org. If you know that your $75 annual dues are up
for renewal, please go to

PayPal, or send a check made out to the Jazz Journalists
Association to: Gene Martin, Treasurer/235 Adams St. Apt. 7A/Brooklyn NY

infrastructure improvements in the works. Be a member, and get us more
