BILLY ROBINSON MEMORIAL CONCERT


Ottawa, September 12, 2005:

The Memorial Concert for saxophonist, composer, bandleader and educator
Billy Robinson, who died on August 11, will be held in Ottawa on Sunday 
October 16, 2005, at the Library & Archives Auditorium, 395 Wellington 
Street, Ottawa, from 12:00noon to 4:30pm. Among the musicians expected to 
play their tributes are Billy's students, former students and colleagues 
from Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and the United States. Musicians wishing to 
participate should contact Bernard Stepien at: bernard.stepien at sympatico.ca.

Admission will be free; donations will be accepted for the Jamiatul 
Muslemeen of Ottawa Carleton and for Amnesty International.

It is hoped that Billy's last recording, made in March, will be available 
for sale.
