BIRTHPLACE OF BEBOP REOPENS AS UPTOWN JAZZ LOUNGE
@ MINTON'S PLAYHOUSE
Celebrate the Grand Opening of the Legendary Minton's Playhouse with Patience Higgins and the Sugar Hill Quartet, the first to perform on the new stage in front of the original mural at 9:00pm Friday, May 19, 2006 and Saturday, May 20th from 9:00pm at the newly renamed UPTOWN JAZZ LOUNGE @ MINTON'S PLAYHOUSE, 208 West 118th Street, Harlem, NYC 10026 between St. Nicholas Avenue and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd-7th Avenue.
Joining tenor saxophonist Patience Higgins as the Sugar Hill Quartet will be Marcus Persiani-electric piano, Dave Gibson-drums, Andy McCloud-string bass plus many well known guests who previously played at the original Mintons.
Doors open daily at 3:00pm., Music from 9:00pm nightly
